Liz Horning is based in the firm’s new Washington, D.C. office, where she serves as Senior Advisor. She brings extensive experience in the creation and development of high-stakes, communications strategies that intersect with legal matters.
Liz previously served as Senior Advisor to the Counsel to the President for President Donald J. Trump. In the White House, she played a key role in the media strategy for the confirmations of three Supreme Court Justices—including quarterbacking the press and communications strategy for the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. On behalf of the Counsel’s Office, Liz coordinated and strategized media responses with the communications teams for legal and oversight matters, including the third presidential impeachment trial in U.S. history.
During her time at the White House, she also served as a policy advisor in the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship. In this role, she supported the development of key domestic priorities, including by partnering with the private sector to improve economic opportunities for American workers. Liz also helped establish a private-public partnership in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide more than $1.5 billion in critical aid to small businesses and disadvantaged communities.
Prior to that, Liz served as a chambers manager for Justice Neil Gorsuch of the Supreme Court of the United States. She received her undergraduate degree in international relations and Spanish from the University of South Carolina.
